Graduate Education

There are 11 doctor supervisors and 23 graduate teachers in Biotechnology Research Institute. In the past 2 decades, we have trained 145 graduate students. Among these there are 49 doctors, 88 masters, and 8 post-doctors. We pay special attention on improving the teaching and scientific guiding ability of the supervisors. Students at BRI have not only been able to acquire solid basic knowledge and active creative thinking, but also develop fine qualities of realistic approach, truth seeking attitude, collaborative work and creative spirit. The paper “Analysis of Late-Blight Resistance in Transgenic Potato Plants Expressing HarpinEa and Osmotin Genes” by PhD. Li Rugang was awarded the “nationa-wide one hundred excellent doctor theses”, which was guided by Prof. Fan Yunliu. The paper from PhD Xu Linghui, supervised by Prof. Huang Dafang, was published on “Plant Cell”. The graduate students are playing important role in the process of BRI’s technology and civilization innovation.
